Get Messy | Flowers

Hi again everyone – as well as my party prompt I have finished off a couple of pages from my little gold album and would like to share these too. This album is so fun to work with – the pages are a great size and so quick to put something together.

My first page is a cover page – possibly should have shared this a while ago, but better late than never they say.

I played with my acrylic paints on a sheet of canvas cut down to 4×4 inches. It was so fun to experiment with different mediums. Sorry about the bad photo – I rushed taking the photos this morning in the dim morning light.

My next two layouts came about because I loved the photo of marigolds in an old copy of Frankie Magazine (I still have trouble cutting things out of my magazine though) and I also wanted to keep the flowers that my husband bought home after I had finger surgery a few weeks ago. And the colours and theme tied together nicely. Its almost August, but I am dreaming of spring – the winter in Tasmania is long, dark and cold. But the daffodils and jonquils are beginning to sprout in my garden letting me know that the end is near.

I pressed the flowers between some cook books and used some mod podge as glue and also as a sealer on a piece of plain white card stock. I’m still not sure whether they are stuck down well enough so I will need to keep an eye on them. Has anyone ever done anything similar? Any tips?
