Welcome to my last week of art journal spreads for the Season of Colour. I have had an amazing time this season and am really happy to say that my journal is now bursting at the seams. The Creative Team have done an excellent job (as always) with the tutorials and inspiration, and the prompts were just great. Overall for me though, just the topic was so inspiring and I often didn’t use either the prompts or the tutorials when I made my spreads.
Let’s jump right in and look at what I made shall we?
First up is this messy, abstract pink spread. My favourite colour, of course. It started out as just messy pink paint spotches and I built it up with collage elements and then the magazine picture.
My next spread was another Pen&Ink special. I started with water on the page, dropped on some liquid acrylic ink and let it bleed. Then I added some tombow markers and wet them. And lastly, added the black and white ladies and added some more marker highlights. So fast, fun and easy, but most of all powerful.
Next up, I channelled my inner @ellymack_ with this illustrated piece, only I cheated and used a magazine page as an image transfer because I can’t illustrate!
And my last spread is a neutral toned spread with bees and honeycomb that made me think of nature and the colours around me.
So that’s it for the Season of Colour my friends – but I might share a flip-through video of the entire journal next week if I can find the time. In the meantime, I am going to ponder what the next Get Messy season will be and start thinking about what type of journal I might use. Until then, stay messy.
