Hi there everyone, I hope you all had a happy holiday season and got to spend quality time with your families. I did and it was lovely, but I certainly missed time with extended family, but that’s what comes with living 2000+kms away.
The Season of Gifts is over halfway done now, and to be honest, it hasn’t been the most inspiring season for me. I have still managed to make at least two spreads each week, but I just haven’t really gelled with the topic. Having said that, this hand made journal is actually my favourite ever I think. I am loving the different sized pages, the texture, the size, and that it will be bursting at the seams by the end of the season. Did you make your own journal for the season?
My first spread was made using leftover gift wrap from Christmas Day. We had an abstract wrapping paper theme and the colours matched a brand new paint I picked up on my recent trip to Sydney with Vanessa and Emily. The colour isn’t one I would usually go for, but it certainly worked well with this spread.
I also added some ribbon to tie the pages together which I think adds a nice gift wrapped touch.
The next spread I made using my brand new QoR Water Colours which were a gift from my hubby. The colours are very intense, and I think they have overtaken Winsor & Newton as my favourite.
So that’s week 4 done. Looking forward to seeing what next weeks prompts bring, and also what 2017 brings for Get Messy Art Journal.
